General Information

Welcome to the website of the Greek Language School of the Institute of Culture, Democracy and Education.

The Greek language school started its action in 1997 within the framework of the Intercultural Education Center of the University of Patras. In 2013 it was included in the Institute of Culture, Democracy and Education.

It is staffed by people competent in teaching and learning of the Greek language who prepare the students for the certification of Greek language learning by the Greek language center.

The Greek language school offers to foreigners in Greece and to Greeks or foreigners abroad the teaching of Greek as a foreign language.

It also offers the teaching of ancient Greek to foreign students of classical studies at universities abroad, which require basic knowledge of ancient Greek.

Purpose

The purpose of the Greek Language School is to teach the Greek language (Greek and ancient Greek) to natural and non-natural speakers, compatriots and foreigners, who want to learn the Greek language and become part of Greek culture.

Course’ s program

The course’ s program is based on student’s needs in collaboration with the teacher.

Students

Students from all over the world are admitted to the Greek Language School of the Institute of Culture, Democracy and Education. The attendance of the courses is online.

Enrollment in the program and the start of Greek language courses can begin, only if the specified tuition fees are paid for the course period.

Certificates of enrollment are issued, after the students have settled all their financial obligations to the Greek Language School. They get a certificate of attendance when they complete the course they have paid for.
